The Misanthrope

Here's a song from our 2007 full-length "A Better Place Than I Have Been" released by One Percent Press.

The Misanthrope

Walking in the park, sleeping in car...
I may sound miserable in these lines
But I will eat from the fruit of life in time.
But I won't look you in the eyes
So don't you look in mine
Because I'm so sick of crying about it.
I don't want to talk and pretend it's all alright.
Were do I reside?
In homes far removed from my own heart.
I took one in the back and I know I want to start
To move away but still stay close, and so
Every chance I get
I go walking in the park, sleeping in the car
Away from this.
I don't want to think about it anymore.
It's a matter of give and take.
And I'll take what I deserve and I'll make it stick.
As far as I'm concerned, in your wake
It's hard to stand the waves.
Where do I reside?
In homes far removed from my own heart.
I'm trying to take them back
But I can't get away
Walking in the park, sleeping in the car
Away from this.
I don't want to think about you anymore.
I think about it too often.
I've got to get away.

You guys should put up the lyrics for the AOTU songs, since the 7 inch doesn't come with lyrics and I can't make out any of the words in "Flesh"

Here are the lyrics to Flesh:

flesh for the taking is what you said and whether or not you meant it, it's no farcry from walking the menace line either way.
flash forward to dates lined out in red, oh the calender games you play, flip the roledex sitting on your desk anyway.

and you can call it just once more, call it the end or your destination. What will you find at the top? maybe just dirty rocks? then it's your payday it's your payday now my friend

you traded your thoughts for bad advice and I never thought you'd pay such high price but strike while the iron's ripe, as prudence says. flash forward to flesh lined out in red, then down to the soup bones, down to the end crossed-out dates, calendar friends.

and you can call it just once more, call it the end or your destination. When will you know that you're home and not just setting the bone? but it''s your payday it your payday now

Flesh for the taking, flash forward
