Look at us!

Hey all!

You may remember sometime last week I mentioned that Rachael Barbash stopped by to take some pictures in the studio. Well, now you can check them out!

Here are the photos from the studio

Here are the photos from Ted Leo and Tin Armor on 7.10.10

Things are continuing to go extremely well in the studio! We are working on vocals now and after that it's just a matter of mixing and mastering. Oh, and sorry I haven't updated much recently we have just been busy and of course, Berea Fest V kept our hands full as well. Anyhow, I should be on it more from here on out. Thanks for listening to me!

The Shake Up

Today has been an extremely productive and exciting day! The two biggest pieces of news are that 1.we did a live take of The Shake Up today that turned out exactly the way we wanted it to and 2.afterwards we made vegetarian double downs. (If you're not familiar with the double down, you can click on the title of this entry. But I wouldn't if I was you.)

We have some more recording to do tonight, but things are going well and the record is starting to take shape. It's so exciting!

Other People!

<-- By the way, this is Eric Cronstein. He is the operator of The Tone Shoppe and along with Mark Parsons (I'll tell you about him later), he is engineering and producing all this music we're making. You can learn more about Eric and the Tone Shoppe here.

In other news, we had local photographer Rachael Barbash stop by yesterday to take some pictures. It was very fun and I'll put up a link to the pictures as soon as their available. In the meantime, you can read a pretty awesome interview with Rachael here.

Strange Correlations

So last night we took a break to play a show with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. It was completely awesome, thanks to those who came and let's do it again sometime!

Today we're working on a song called Strange Correlations. It is a fun one, and if you want to hear our demo of it you can download it for free on this website. It is in the 'Demos' tab to the right.

Also just in case you missed it, we were in the local Columbus paper UWeekly this week, totally without shirts on. It is funny. Here is the link.

P.S. The picture is of Dexter. He has been hanging out with us in the studio. What a cute little guy, right?

Making Music Is Fun!

Things are moving along extremely well out here! We had some issues yesterday, but things are back on track now and we should be able to get the ground work done for all the songs in the next two days. Hopefully I will have some sort of music to upload soon too!

Oh, and we're playing with Ted Leo tonight at Skully's, so if you live in Columbus you should probably come hang out!

Sandwich Hands

Hey Everybody!

<-- Look at this! Last night we tweaked just about everything, getting it up to snuff. This morning we are going to begin recording for real! Things should steadily become more awesome from this point on...

Day 2: More Completed

Day 2 was much more productive. We put together the sound insulating walls for the drums and arranged the gear in the room. Added bonus: I finally got my leslie speaker working with my organ. It's been a long and arduous process but it was absolutely worth the strain. I haven't been so excited about something in months.

Let the good times roll.

Yesterday was our first day in the studio. It wasn't very productive but it was a fun start to the next three weeks. We learned how to play "The Stones That I Throw" then ate at the Ponderosa buffet. It was cool. Pictures are forthcoming.
