Florida, New Jams

Hey everybody!

We are currently in Florida for The Fest 8! (http://www.thefestfl.com/fest8/) We played last night and it was awesome! We are going to hang out here today and head back to Ohio sometime tonight. If you have an opportunity to come down to a Fest in the future, I would definitely recommend it.

In other news, our new recordings are fully mixed and just need to be mastered. So in a week or two we will have a finished product available for anyone who is interested! I will be sure and post info on how you can hear/own it when the time comes.

Cool everybody, I'm going to go hang out! See you later!

Also Saturday, September 19th is "Independents' Day" in downtown Columbus! All the details can be found here, http://www.thisisindependent.com/ but suffices to say that it is a art/music/fun festival held downtown with lots of interesting local groups. We will be playing at 8:30 pm on the Pearl Alley Stage! It is going to be lots of fun and hopefully you will come!

See you later everybody!

Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood

Here is a video of us playing 'Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.' Also, check out our set at Comfest this year. We're playing Friday at 5pm on the main stage. We'll be accompanied by some string players too. It should be pretty cool. We plan on posting some more videos soon.

Outta nine lives, I've spent seven...

Last night we played with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and it was awesome. I haven't had so much fun in a long time, and I know the other Matts and John would express a similar sentiment. It was one of those nights where everything worked out: great show, close friends, and meeting a bunch of new cool people. Thanks a ton everybody. Being in a band is so much fun. Seriously.

Hey folks,

We just confirmed that we'll be opening for Matt and Kim this Friday (the 27th) at Skully's. The door is $10. We'll probably start around 9:00 or 9:30. I know we've playing a large number of shows at Skully's but one more won't hurt, right?

Bio

Common ground is important for a band. Tin Armor has learned this lesson well. Since their humble beginnings in 2006 they have played hundreds of shows across the country, produced multiple releases including, a full length album, A Better Place Than I Have Been, available on One Percent Press, a self-titled 7" vinyl single available on Whoa Oh Records, and a second full length, Life of Abundance, which they self released in the summer of 2011. In this time Tin Armor has learned to write, record and perform in spite of and in light of the differences that each member brings to the process. They have crafted a unique sound that blends melodic, pop-sensible songwriting with literary and often introverted lyrics. Their honest style of rock and roll is approachable without being boring, and thought provoking without being pedantic. As they work to expand and improve their sound, they continue to learn this valuable lesson: common ground is not found, it is made.

The Misanthrope

Here's a song from our 2007 full-length "A Better Place Than I Have Been" released by One Percent Press.

The Misanthrope

Walking in the park, sleeping in car...
I may sound miserable in these lines
But I will eat from the fruit of life in time.
But I won't look you in the eyes
So don't you look in mine
Because I'm so sick of crying about it.
I don't want to talk and pretend it's all alright.
Were do I reside?
In homes far removed from my own heart.
I took one in the back and I know I want to start
To move away but still stay close, and so
Every chance I get
I go walking in the park, sleeping in the car
Away from this.
I don't want to think about it anymore.
It's a matter of give and take.
And I'll take what I deserve and I'll make it stick.
As far as I'm concerned, in your wake
It's hard to stand the waves.
Where do I reside?
In homes far removed from my own heart.
I'm trying to take them back
But I can't get away
Walking in the park, sleeping in the car
Away from this.
I don't want to think about you anymore.
I think about it too often.
I've got to get away.

The Roof and the Rod

Here is a song from our 7" EP released by Whoa Oh Records.

The Roof and the Rod

We were born with scholars hearts but minds for law,
Not far in age and measured with marks on the wall.
But now our shoulders don’t stand for old.
There is more to it than we’ll ever know
So we tax our minds by thinking.
A search for reason amid distractions like
What do our betters lend to other betters when
Time’s expanse has left them with mostly bitterness?

“We shared the roof and rod so don’t be shy,”
A brother’s pardon breathes out like a sigh.
“And waiting for tomorrow won’t hasten the light
It’s daylights cruel kind to wait all night
Although I have no where to go.”

May all these fatal flame be put away,
Or laid to rest for another day.
And I explain that you’ve got to let it go
“You say there’s no possibility, so…”
If you are stubborn I am stumped
Though I know I am the same way.
But what do fair brothers lend to their blooded kin?
We always apologize but what do fair brothers lend?

“We shared the roof and rod so don’t be shy,”
A brother’s pardon breathes out like a sigh.
“And waiting for tomorrow won’t hasten the light
It’s daylights cruel kind to wait all night
Although I have no where to go.”
