Last night we had the pleasure to play with one of my favorite bands, Moon High. If you have never heard or seen them, you should. There music is incredibly well written and their live performance is strikingly good. They exhibit so much control and subtlety, it's completely awesome. Last night they were especially fantastic and they did a great rendition of The Band's Bessie Smith. Anyway, you should visit their website, buy their album and then make the time to see them.

We have been pretty overwhelmed with finishing up things for our new album. It's coming together though. As I write this, I am listening to round 2 of our mixes and making notes. So far, so good.

We're going to be focused on finishing things up with the album for the rest of the month, but September is shaping up to have all sorts of awesome stuff. 2 Columbus shows, we're back in Dayton for the 2nd Annual Cyclops Fest, and 2 dates with our good buddies The Sidekicks!

Today we returned from finishing our new full length album. There is still mixing to be done, but other than that all of the pieces are in place. I really can't tell you how excited I am! I will keep you updated with release information as soon as it is finalized. Thanks!

This Saturday with Friends

Last night in the humidity and heat of Matt O'Conke's Basement, we had the pleasure of playing music with a few of our dear friends. Ben Ryant, Andy Cook and Bobby Stevens will be playing at the 83 Gallery Parking Lot Party with us and a number of other awesome folks this Saturday, July 7th starting at 6pm. We have had the pleasure to know and play music with these guys for a number of years and when we are able to be together and make music as a group, it is always a wonderful experience. Both Andy and Bobby have excellent releases that I highly recommend you listen to (links down below) as well. So if you are out doing the Gallery Hop or bored on a Saturday night, I would like to invite you to stop by the Mikey's Late Night Slice/83 Gallery parking lot for some music and fun. Thanks.

Summer Update, Dudes

Hey Everybody! I just wanted to touch base with anyone who was checking in. After our most recent tour we have been a little bit off the radar. But it has actually been a very productive time. We were able to work with one of Columbus' coolest organizations The Dick & Jane Project! If you have not read about this yet, I highly recommend you do. They are doing an awesome job of bringing music to young people and I love it! Beyond that, we have been working very steadily on our new album. We will be recording our next full length at The Tone Shoppe this July. The studio time is booked, an awesome group of producers/engineers are lined up and the songs are ready. I am so excited. Seriously! Eric Cronstein, Mark Parsons and Andy Cook are going to work with us again and our good friend Ryan Eilbeck has agreed to lend his ears and thoughts as well! I'll update as the process comes along. It is going to be sweet. Between now and then we do have 2 shows, July 6th at Kobo with She Bears, Deadwood Floats and Mira Loma and July 7th in the 83 Gallery parking lot for Gallery Hop. We will be playing with a number of good friends that night including, Andy Cook, Bobby Stevens, WV White and a bunch of other folks too. So that's what is going on in our world. -John

It was an excellent month! Thank you so much to both Delay and Reverse the Curse! A huge thank you as well to everyone who came to the shows, hung out with us or let us crash in their houses! 1st Leg of Tour w/ Delay Complete!

We are home for today, showering, doing laundry, etc. and preparing for the second leg of our tour with Reverse the Curse! I wanted to take a minute to talk about Delay. If you have never heard or seen Delay, you should. They are not only extremely talented folks, they are also incredibly good people. Another review, another tour, another show.

It's been a while since we've posted anything but we're back now with another review of Life of Abundance. This one comes from Razorcake, and super is positive. Thanks Razorcake!

In other news, we're still finalizing preparations for our upcoming tours this March and April. In just a few weeks we'll be out and about on the east coast with our good buddies Delay and immediately after that we'll be heading up north to Canada with Reverse the Curse. But first, we've got a show in Columbus at Ace of Cups with William Reach and Emily on the Complexes on February 28th.
